2024 Audi Q8 price and specs: Fresh looks arrive for flagship luxury SUV

The updated 2024 Audi Q8 large SUV line-up – not to be confused with the Q8 e-tron electric car – has landed in local showrooms, bringing revised styling and pricing across the board for the luxury five-seat model.

Now kicking off at $143,415 before on-road costs for either the 50 TDI quattro S line or 55 TFSI quattro S line, prices are up $4515 and $3115 respectively over the outgoing version.

The 60 TFSI e quattro S line, the only plug-in hybrid electric vehicle in the Q8 line-up, is $1784 more expensive than before at $154,284, while the flagship (for now) SQ8 TFSI quattro is now $178,815 (+$1015).

Audi has plans to roll out the updated RS Q8 TFSI quattro at a later date.

However, buyers are treated to updated aesthetics including a new octagonal Singleframe grille, reworked front air intakes, and tweaked tail-light signature as the facelift to the Q8 line-up that first landed in Australian showrooms in late 2018.

The interior is also updated with “new materials and finishes”, according to Audi, with a mix of leather and wood trim options available.

As before, the Q8 50 TDI quattro S line and 55 TFSI quattro S line are powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology – the former a diesel and the latter a petrol engine.

The 50 TDI quattro S line outputs 210kW/600Nm for a 0-100km/h sprint in 6.1 seconds, while the 55 TFSI quattro S line variant has 250kW/500Nm at its disposal for a 5.9-second 0-100km/h run.

The 60 TFSI e quattro S line also uses a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol V6 engine, but adds an electric motor and plug-in hybrid technology for a combined system output of 360kW/700Nm, cutting the landmark triple-digit acceleration time to 5.0s.

Meanwhile, the SQ8 TFSI quattro is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo petrol V8 with a 373kW/770Nm output, needing just 4.1s to hit 100km/h from a standstill.

All Q8s send drive to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Unique to the 60 TFSI e quattro S line is a 17.8kWh battery pack that can propel the Q8 PHEV up to 74km on a single charge when tested on WLTP standards.
