The High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Economic Integration (HLTF-EI) convened for its 46th Meeting in Vientiane, Lao PDR today discussing strategic issues on regional economic integration. The Meeting discussed, among others, global and regional economic outlook, Priority Economic Deliverables under Lao PDR’s ASEAN Chairmanship, new and emerging issues in ASEAN Plus One Free Trade Agreements, development of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Post-2025 Agenda, and the progress update of pilot project on good regulatory practice in electric vehicles and battery industries.
The 46th HLTF-EI Meeting was preceded with 7th Working Group Meeting for AEC Post-2025, where Member States discuss the development of AEC Strategic Plan 2026-2030 and effective ways to refine cross-pillar coordination mechanisms as well as AEC’s institutional arrangement in the post-2025 environment.
