2025 Lexus LC 500h keeps gorgeous hybrid GT dream alive

Date:

  • The 2025 Lexus LC 500h costs $103,575, which is $1,425 more than the 2024 model
  • Lexus increased the LC 500h’s rigidity with additional bracing
  • The 2025 LC 500h is expected to check with an EPA-rated 29 mpg combined

The 2025 Lexus LC 500h luxury coupe continues to offer a more stylish take on hybrid tech.

Scheduled to arrive at dealerships later this fall, the LC 500h is priced from $103,575—$3,150 more than the non-hybrid LC 500 coupe and $1,425 more than the 2024 hybrid model. That’s due to small increases in both the base price and the destination charge (included above), which is now $1,175. Lexus also offers an LC convertible, but only in non-hybrid form.

After receiving a new infotainment system with a bigger screen for 2024, the LC 500h receives only minor changes for 2025. Lexus aims to increase rigidity with additional front and rear underfloor braces, a carbon fiber scuff plate is now part of the optional Sport Package, and a new Iridium hue brings the total number of color options to nine.

The LC 500h has a complex hybrid system that incorporates an Atkinson-cycle 3.5-liter V-6 with the standard Lexus/Toyota planetary-gear set hybrid system, as well as a 4-speed automatic transmission. This setup is meant to simulate the 10-speed automatic transmission of the non-hybrid LC 500, which is powered by a 5.0-liter V-8.

The hybrid is rated at 354 hp, which is sent to the rear wheels and enables a Lexus-estimated 0-60 mph of 4.7 seconds. That’s 0.3 second slower than the V-8 version, but we’ve found the hybrid involves no compromise when it comes to the subjective driving experience.

The 2025 LC 500h is also likely to match the 2024 model’s EPA-rated 29 mpg combined (26 mpg city, 33 mpg highway). That’s a big improvement over the V-8 model’s 18 mpg combined (16 mpg city, 24 mpg highway)—and the gas mileage of most other grand tourers.

While parent Toyota announced in 2023 that it would transform Lexus “into a battery EV brand” by 2035, the luxury brand remains more focused on hybrids for now. And the LC 500h remains a gorgeous flagship for the fleet of higher-volume hybrid models.
