One of their stars is Konsa, a former teammate of Young’s at Aston Villa and when speaking to talkSPORT, he expressed his one hope for the 39-time England international.

Asked if the he will be a good pundit, Konsa said: “I haven’t seen that yet.

“I hope he’s a good one though, I don’t want him to embarrass himself! But I wish him all the best for talkSPORT for the tournament, I’m sure he’ll be great.”

Having initially played for Villa from 2007 to 2011, Young returned to the club in 2021, a time when Konsa started to become a key player.

The duo made 50 appearances together in all competitions before the former left for Everton last summer, with the latter a big fan of his fellow defender.

“I’m really close with Youngy. We message quite a lot,” he said when asked about their relationship.

“He really helped me as well during his time at Aston Villa when things weren’t going well and he was able to put me in the right mind frame.

“For me, Youngy’s a really good man, a top professional and a great player.”
