Massive Secret Service Oversight Amid Iranian Plot to Assassinate Trump: Where Has Government Accountability Gone?”

Date:

We all know by now that the Secret Service had a massive oversight with the overall protection plan during the recent shooting at the PA Trump rally, especially in light of the increased threat of an Iranian assassination plot on Trump.

We posted an article about that yesterday.

Iran is seeking retribution for Trump’s killing of General Soleimani.

Soleimani was a widely known bad dude in the Special Ops community, responsible for lots of American casualties, and certainly, it’s a safer environment without him breathing air.

The Secret Service agency has incredible people on its staff; I’ve met plenty, but the security lapse is a clear leadership failure on the scene and could go all the way to the top.

I’ve actively participated in protection details in Iraq and Afghanistan, but it doesn’t take an expert to conclude that this was a massive screw-up.

But who’s going to answer for it?

The buck has to stop with someone but it seems like the Washington D.C. buck shuffle step is the new dance move.

National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson said officials have been tracking Iranian threats against Trump administration officials for years, dating back to the last administration. Trump ordered the 2020 killing of Qassem Soleimani, who led the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force.

“These threats arise from Iran’s desire to seek revenge for the killing of Qassem Soleimani. We consider this a national and homeland security matter of the highest priority,” Watson said. –AP News

The real question we should be asking those in charge is, “Where has U.S. Government accountability gone?” It’s vanished like President Biden’s competency.

The trend of duck for cover, deny, and make counter-accusations, has become the norm in Washington. It’s part of the U.S. Government rot that needs to be surgically removed like a cancerous tumor.

The lack of accountability over the  debacle of a withdrawal that left Billions of US taxpayer dollars in equipment (close to $90B) to the Taliban is just one example over the disturbing trend to dilute these events down until people forget and those responsible can move upward.

We saw the same thing with Benghazi, Libya where I lost a best friend, Glen Doherty.

As much as Hilary Clinton had plenty of blame in the cover up aftermath, she wasn’t responsible for the security lapse on the ground. That was Patrick Kennedy’s job, a career Department of State bureaucrat that has left a trail of bodies the main cast of House of Cards would be impressed with.

The Secret Service’s massive leadership oversight in protecting Trump, particularly in light of the heightened threat from an Iranian assassination plot, underscores a glaring issue of government accountability.

It is clear that those responsible for these security lapses often escape accountability. This pattern of neglect and deflection must be addressed and rectified, for the safety of our nation and the integrity of our government, the people should demand it.
