A safer road to school

The village of Al-Sawiya on the West Bank is located between three Israeli settlements. Here, the local school has for many years been under the shadow of the Israeli occupation. For the teachers, educating the students is only part of their duties. They also feel a responsibility for keeping their students safe. In a further measure, the village committee has had a new road built to the school that keeps the students out of harm’s way.
