The 21-year-old fought through cramps to rally from 2-1 down and defeat Alexander Zverev 6-3 2-6 5-7 6-1 6-2 in an epic 4 hour, 19 minute French Open final on Court Philippe Chatrier.
Alcaraz’s victory adds the Roland Garros crown to the Wimbledon and US Open titles he won in 2022. He will head to the 2025 Australian Open with a chance to become the youngest man ever to complete a career Grand Slam.
Fourth seed Zverev remains in search of his first major championship after also blowing a two-set lead against Dominic Thiem in the 2020 US Open final. The Spaniard stayed resilient through ebbs and flows, overcoming a sluggish third set to dominate the last two and level the head-to-head with Zverev at 5-5.
