Analyst Proposes Broncos, Cardinals Draft Trade

Date:

The 2024 NFL Draft is just around the corner.

That usually means that we could be looking at multiple surprising moves.

There are several quarterback-needy teams looking to trade into the top five, but it won’t be cheap or easy.

With that in mind, NFL Draft expert Chad Reuter put together an interesting trade proposal that could help the Denver Broncos jump to No. 4.

For that to happen, they would have to send the No. 12 pick, the No. 145 pick (a fifth-rounder via New York Jets), and a 2025 first and second-round pick.

In return, they’d get the No. 4 and No. 104 (fourth-round pick) from the Arizona Cardinals.

Reuter argued that Cardinals GM Monti Ossenfort admitted that his team is considering trading down from No. 4.

Also, with the Minnesota Vikings also looking for a quarterback and in a position to make a move, the Broncos should jump the gun and pursue their Russell Wilson replacement.

Reuter adds that the Broncos don’t have a second-round pick this time because of the Sean Payton trade, but Payton himself admitted that they’re currently considering trading up to get a quarterback in the draft.

The Houston Texans gave the Cardinals a similar package last season to land Will Anderson Jr., so there’s already a precedent of this kind of move under this current Cardinals regime.

Of course, they also have all the leverage and hold all the cards right now.

With the Vikings also keeping tabs on J.J. McCarthy and other quarterbacks, it wouldn’t be shocking to see both teams engage in a bit of a bidding war.
