NBA players — and professional athletes as a whole — are incredibly competitive.

That’s just the way they’re wired.

These guys just don’t like to lose, and it makes sense, as they’ve been used to winning — and being the reason they win — for most of their lives.

More often than not, athletes take that competitive drive off the court and take it with them to every single thing they do, whether it’s minor or major.

That includes video games.

Recently, Anthony Davis revealed that LeBron James didn’t use to be as good in Madden, up to the point where he constantly beat him.

Then, as soon as he got a grasp of the game around the time they were in the bubble, James took a huge leap forward and never looked back (Via Overtime).

Apparently, the Los Angeles Lakers star plays from 15 to 20 games a day, and he’s now become a top-1000 player on Earth.

Moreover, he reportedly even beat the 164th-best player in the world.

That’s just the kind of competitive monster an NBA star is.

Also, James used to be a good football player himself, and he’s considered to be one of the most intelligent NBA players of all time, so it’s not much of a surprise to see that he has great attention to detail and the ability to make tactical adjustments to get an edge on the game.

And with all the free time NBA players have when they’re on the road, they might as well put it to good use and turn to video games instead of partying.
