Former Liverpool goalkeeper David James displayed his ruthless streak at Anfield on Sunday.
James, who represented the Reds for seven years, was part of the half-time entertainment during Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Chelsea.
A group of fans joined James on the pitch at Anfield to take penalties against the ex-England no.1.
One of the fans was a young boy, who will have no doubt dreamt so many times about his big moment on Liverpool’s home turf.
And when the boy stepped up for his spot-kick, one might have assumed James may have held back from doing his level best to keep the shots out – no chance.
The boy had his first penalty kept out by James, who made 572 Premier League appearances.
But the young fan was given the chance of a reprieve, only for his second penalty to be saved once again.
After his second save, James turned to the fans sat in the Kop End with a smattering of boos jokingly aimed at the 54-year-old.
Liverpool were similarly ruthless on Sunday as they maintained their place at the top of the Premier League.
The home side took the lead when Mohamed Salah slotted home a penalty after Curtis Jones was kicked by Chelsea defender Levi Colwill.
Nicolas Jackson’s well-taken goal in the opening moments of the second half levelled the scores but Jones went from provider to scorer on 51 minutes to give Arne Slot’s men the three points.
Slot has won ten of his first 11 matches in charge of Liverpool, with Pep Guardiola the only manager to achieve the same amount of wins in all competitions in a quicker time.
