Enugu LG polls : Hon. Anyaegbudike promises to industrialise Oji River

The Enugu State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Oji River Local Government Area in the forthcoming local government elections, holding on September 21st, Hon. Greg Anyaegbudike, has promised to make Oji River a destination for business and investments that will enhance socio ecommic empowerment of the citizens and equally boost the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the state.

Hon. Greg Anyaegbudike made the promise while unveiling his manifesto for development of the council area if voted into power.

He lamented that Oji River town from the records ranks as the third urban town in Enugu state after Enugu metropolis and Nsukka town,vbut in real terms the town is socio-economically backwards amidst its great potentials.

The PDP candidate promised to reverse the ugly trend and set the town on track of development if elected as it’s next council chairman.

Outlining his manifesto captioned, “IT IS ALL ABOUT OJI RIVER”, Hon Anyaegbudike said he will be partnering with both the federal and state government,Organised Private Sector, Development partners and indigenous investors in exploring the abundant potentials in the town for it’s growth.

He stated, “Our vision is to make Oji River a business destination point.To facilitate economic growuh by providing enabling environment that will enhance business opportunities. It is all about Oji River”.

Hon. Anyaegbudike assured his administration will endear good governance in the areas of security, open governance,utilising the abundant human resource to endear private sector driven development of Oji River.

He harped that his administration will develop a master plan for development of Oji River,improve on the health and education sector by cuing into the already established programme of the state government which endear twenty smart schools and Type 2 hospitals acrosr the twenty wards of the council area.

He assured that Oji River Council area under his watch will boast of producing at least three arable crops in the state.

He promised to reticulate the Oji wonderful water across the Urban town, explore the tourism and agricultural potentials in the communities as well as gingering development of industrial layouts in various axis of the local government area.

Some of the stakeholders who at the event,expressed optimism that Hon. Greg Anyaegbudike will bring his wealth of experience in international relations and service to the country to develop Oji River.

The CEO/MD of Signature Television, Hon.VinMartin Ilo, spoke in this direction. Dr Eric Oluedo, a former in Enugu state corroborated. Hon. Ernest Nweze, the Enugu State PDP Vice chairman(Enugu West district) assured the PDP candidate Hon. Greg Anyaegbudike will live up to expectations.

He called for a vigorous campaign to ensure his election.

Hon.Anyaegbudike who have worked as a representative of as a consultant for World Bank on DFID projects in Nigeria, a former Managing Director of Enugu State Waste Management Agency(ESWAMA) etc, earlier introduced Barr. Seth Nwokolo as his running mate.

The unveiling of the manifesto was witnessed by many stakeholders of the party in Oji River local government, among whom were the state commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dame Ugochi Madueke, a former commissioner for Youtht and Sports, Hon. Manfred Nzekwe, a former vice chairman of the council, Hon.Ephraim Offiah, the immediate past state secretary of the party,Hon.Innocent Akalusi.

Others include Hon John Okefi, the Councillor representing Oji Urban ward 4, Hon.Mrs Uche Onyefulu, Hon.Ejike Iloh, among others.
