IND vs NZ: India is again in trouble at Pune after their initial crash in the first inning of the Chinnaswamy test. The conditions seem very similar as India is now posed at 107/7 at Lunch on Day 2 of the Pune Test.

India was supposed to produce a flatter as well as more turning pitch at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Ground in Pune, and according to reports such was the pitch. India planned to keep the bounce low on the track, as Ravi Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and other spinners would get excess help from the track.

Hence, as a result, Washington Sundar was called into the Indian side by Gautam Gambhir while New Zealand also did not step back as they included Ish Sodhi in their Squad while calling back Mitchell Santner into the playing 11 for the Second Test.

After Ravi Ashwin and Washington Sundar, the Tamil Nadu duo shared the Indian wickets. Ashwin cleaned the top order of the New Zealand side, as he claimed to surpass Lyon to be the highest wicket-taker in the WTC.

Washington Sundar on the other hand created a ruckus at the Pune ground, when New Zealand batter Ravindra was his biggest strike, Sundar cleaned them with 7/53, Sundar’s best-ever figures in international cricket.

However, the Indian batters have also faced serious trouble in front of the Kiwi spinners. However, the skipper fell for a duck to Tim Southee back at the end of Day 1, Day 2 began on a good note with Gill and Jaiswal contributing runs to India’s scoreboard.

Though Ajaz Patel the second lead spinner has not had the success he would have desired, spinners Santner and Phillips have on the other hand sparked for the Blackcaps, as likes of Jaiswal, Kohli, Gill, Pant and Sarfaraz have all been dismissed for minor scores.

India begins their innings post Lunch, as Jadeja and Sundar are the last recognised pair for India. Ravindra Jadeja has been taking the innings forward alongside the no.9, however, Santner strikes post-lunch as Jadeja is back in the hut for 38, Santner has a 5-for.
