IPL 2024: Lucknow Super Giants choose Matt Henry in place of David Willey against Punjab Kings: The 11th match of the 17th edition of the Tata Indian Premier League 2024 will take place today between Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings.
Ahead of their second match today against Punjab Kings, Lucknow Super Giants have included Matt Henry as a replacement for England all-rounder David Willey.
Foreign player David Willey has been ruled out of the tournament due to personal reasons. The New Zealand fast bowler was bought by LSG for his base price of ₹1.25 crore during the mini auction.
IPL 2024: Matt Henry IPL Experience
Matt Henry does not have much IPL experience, he played two matches for PBKS in the 2017 edition of the IPL. Meanwhile, he has also been a part of Chennai Super Kings.

LSG lost their opening match of the season against the Rajasthan Royals. Henry’s entrance may be a good move for both sides. The presence of a proven international fast bowler could help their bowling unit perform better. Lucknow started their campaign with a defeat against Rajasthan Royals, and will now face PBKS in their second match.
Against RR, Naveen-ul-Haq took two wickets, Ravi Bishnoi and Mohsin Khan took one wicket each. Henry’s arrival will bring more enthusiasm and firepower to the team.
