Porsche has expanded Macan lineup from two to four with the introduction of the new Porsche Macan EV rear-wheel drive, marking the entry point into their all-electric SUV series. The focus for the rear-wheel-drive Macan was primarily on high efficiency and range. The entry-level model boasts a WLTP combined range of up to 398 miles. However, in real-world conditions expect to achieve about 85 percent of the range claim or 338 miles.
Positioned at the higher-powered spectrum is the new Macan 4S, delivering up to 516 PS. It bridges the gap between the Macan 4 and the Macan Turbo offering more performance and a slightly lower real world range of around 300-319 miles. The Macan lineup is equipped with a 100 kWh battery and advanced power electronics for improved efficiency and performance.
All Macan models now offer a new off-road design package. The Macan 4S includes the electronically controlled Porsche Traction Management (ePTM) system, which distributes power between the front and rear axles nearly five times faster than traditional all-wheel-drive systems.
The Porsche Driver Experience offers a mix of digital and analogue elements. These include an instrument cluster with a 12.6-inch curved display, a 10.9-inch passenger display, a head-up display with augmented reality technology, and ambient lighting with a communication light.
The entry-level rear-wheel drive Macan is 110 kilograms lighter than the Macan 4 and therefore requires less electricity for propulsion. This results in a combined WLTP range of up to 398 miles (641 km).
The two new Porsche Macan EV models are available to order now and will be delivered to customers in the second half of the year. Prices in the UK start from £67,200 for the entry-level Mcan and rise to Germany at 80,700 Euros for the Macan and 75,000 for the Macan 4S.
