Ryan Garcia put his wild antics to one side to help his little brother on Saturday night.

The controversial boxing star walked his sibling, Sean Garcia, to the ring for his fight with Amado Vargas on the undercard of Nate Diaz vs Jorge Masvidal.

Unfortunately, his presence couldn’t help Sean, who suffered his first career defeat when the referee deemed him unfit to continue midway through the sixth round.

Vargas, who is the son of former three-time world champion Fernando Vargas, and Garcia fought at a frenetic pace from the very first bell.

At the midway point, Vargas was running away with the fight after racking up a massive advantage on the punch stats and scoring a knockdown in round four.

Garcia showed a tremendous amount of heart to get up and push his opponent back to the ropes, but the 23-year-old struggled to keep Vargas in the fifth frame.

Vargas, who is also 23, continued to batter him around the ring in round six, and the referee stepped in to save Garcia from taking any more punishment.

Sean entered the bout with a 7-0-1 record, with the only blemish coming courtesy of a majority draw when he fought Seung Ho Yang in South Korea in December 2022.
