As he approached the crease and released the ball, the white rock slipped from his hand soaring above Smith’s head. San Francisco’s Josh Inglis caught the unexpected delivery clumsily, allowing Smith to run a single and pass the strike to Glenn Maxwell. The square leg umpire immediately called a no-ball, as the delivery was above waist height obliging Drysdale to bowl again.
