Thailand has extended the suspension of the TM6 immigration form requirement for foreign travelers at 16 land and sea checkpoints until April 30, 2025, to simplify procedures and reduce congestion.
Thailand Suspends TM6 Form Requirement
As of October 17, 2024, Thailand has prolonged the suspension of the TM6 (To Mo 6) immigration form requirement for foreign travelers using 16 designated land and sea entry points. This temporary measure, initially introduced to ease traveler processing, now extends through April 30, 2025. The TM6 form, once mandatory for documenting personal and travel information, was permanently abolished for air arrivals in July 2022.
Simplified Immigration Procedures
The decision to suspend the TM6 form aims to streamline immigration procedures and reduce congestion at eight land and eight sea checkpoints. By alleviating administrative burdens, Thailand seeks to enhance traveler experience at these busy border crossings. This initiative is expected to foster smoother travel experiences and efficient processing for visitors navigating entry and exit procedures.
Designated Entry Checkpoints
For land travelers, checkpoints from provinces such as Sa Kaeo, Mukdahan, and Chiang Rai are included. The program covers specific routes, promoting efficient overland travel. In addition to land checkpoints, select maritime entry points in Chon Buri, Rayong, Phuket, and Surat Thani cater to cruise ships and yachts, further supporting Thailand’s aim for seamless international access.
